Fall, 2014 — Yamaha Motor Canada announced today the launch of an all-new four-stroke F8: a twin-cylinder that brings even more convenience and improved control to the lightweight portable outboard segment. The F8 cowling now has the sleek lines of larger Yamaha outboards, and it offers more features and benefits than ever.
“The displacement on the F8 is up 7.5 per cent, so it offers more thrust and added torque,” says Yamaha Motor Canada’s National Manager Marine, Jean François Rioux. “It’s also quiet, fuel efficient and smooth running. This is a great, lightweight portable suitable for many small boat applications.”
For added convenience, the F8 tiller now offers improved handle-folding characteristics, which allow the stored motor to take up less space. It also has an improved carry handle. In addition, the F8 now features rear resting pads to allow the outboard to be stored with the rear side down, increasing storage options and improving storage stability.
Control improvements include a new ergonomic shift lever to assure better grip for more precise shifting. The shortened F8 tiller handle means operation is easier than ever before.
The new F8 is expected to be available for Spring 2015.
