Yamaha announces “Get Your Cool†Video Contest winner:
Eric Brunt wins 2010 BWs 50 scooter!
August 18, 2010, Toronto, ON – Victoria, BC’s Eric Brunt knows the quickest way to a teenage girl’s heart, and now he has it: a 2010 Yamaha BWs 50 scooter! Brunt’s cool new ride is the reward for winning Yamaha Motor Canada’s “Get Your Cool†video contest, hosted on their Facebook Fan page. Ten videos were uploaded during the contest period, all featuring Canadians, all of whom were desperately seeking some “cool.â€
It wasn’t easy choosing a winner, considering the many unique and creative videos uploaded. There were rap songs, slideshows, dad’s trying helplessly to be cool, and cucumber-faced teenagers! After reviewing each video for effort, creativity and humour, Yamaha’s judges settled on Eric Brunt’s “Quickest way to a teenage girl’s heart†video.
“It was very well done, and exactly what we’re looking for,†says Yamaha’s National Manager, Marketing, Tim Kennedy. “Eric and his friends put a lot of effort and enthusiasm into the production of his video. Hopefully a brand new BWs 50 will help him finally secure the date he’s been looking for [laughs]!â€
However, Brunt isn’t the only one to walk away with a prize. Because Yamaha’s judges enjoyed so many laughs during the contest, they’ve created a few special, runner-up awards:
Taking home ‘Best Rap Video’ is … Lynn and Jackie Courtoreille; ‘Best Rendition of a Kenny Loggins’ #1 hit’’ is … Kate Goguen; and in honour of being the first to upload, the ‘Early Bird Special’ award goes to … Sherry Nickerson! Each of these contestants will be awarded $50 Yamabuck gift certificates.
