Our friend from eastern Ontario sent us this image of a Chinook salmon caught pier fishing at the mouth of one of the Lake Ontario tributaries about 2-weeks ago.
I also saw a post of an angler who landed a Coho salmon just about the same time ice fishing the Bay of Quinte for Walleye.
In the past I have also had my friends Pat Pagano & Mike Atkins fishing the Detroit River jigging for Walleye and landing Whitefish and Chinook salmon.
When the water is cold Great Lakes Salmon, Trout & Steelhead can venture into any water, deep or shallow. If you’re fishing in the Great Lakes bays or tributary mouths don’t be surprised if you incidentally catch the above.
