Welland River, ON Walleye action on Rapala DT7F.

Posted on July 3rd, 2011

[nggallery id=551]After spending the morning battling Trout & Salmon with our friends on Aldo Nava’s  www.niagarafishingadventures.com , charter boat, my wife Barbara, our pup Mulligan and I decided to fish the Welland River, ON for a couple of hours for walleye.  We launched our boat around 4pm and by 4:30 we already had boated 3-nice walleye and one Largemouth bass.  The Largemouth bass hit a 3/8 oz. flippin’ jig fished with a TriggerX Black Craw while the Walleye were all caught cranking the middle of the river on the Rapala Dives-To 7 Flat series crankbait in the gold finish.  The walleye were feeding on structure breaks that dropped from 4-10′ and hit hard.

We used the Rapala Shift series spinning and baitcasting outfits matched with the Shift Reels and loaded with Sufix 832 10 lb. test braid line to catch our fish.
