Welland River, ON – Fishing Report
Posted on September 12th, 2011We had the chance to fish the Welland River this past Saturday morning / afternoon. Launching our boat out of the ramp across from the Welland / Niagara Central Airport in a small park, we were extremely pleased with the cleanliness of the park and launch ramp, being able to utilize a small dock for assistance.
Throughout the morning and afternoon, we fished bridge structures toward downtown Welland. A large mouth bass was landed around some timber structure on a Rapala Rattlin Rap in the silver / blue colour. Later in the day we fished the Lincoln Street bridge structure and were able to land another largemouth bass. Paul Lord, Canadian Sportfishing’s Marketing Director landed a Northern Pike. Fishing partner Ben Patterson had a northern pike chase a lure right to the surface of the water near the boat. Report submitted by Ben Patterson.
