We just shot an exciting Kayak TV show catching pike and largemouth bass.

[nggallery id=265]As planned, we met-up with James Beaupre early this morning and headed out to one of his favorite pot-lakes in southern Ontario.  We started off fishing plastic worms for largemouth bass and within the first 1/2 hr. I had hooked a chunky 4 lb.+ largemouth bass that hit a TriggerX wormed rigged “wacky-worm” style.  Within minutes I lost a second bass in the 3-4 lb. range that hit the same TriggerX worm, came flying out of the water, and threw the hook.  After that we set our sites on fishing open-water weedbeds using Lucky Strike Spoons & Spinnerbaits and the new Rapala Clackin’ Crank in 10-20′ of water.  In a few hours we had caught and released about two dozen pike that averaged 2-5 lb..  They were not monsters, but put up excellent fights and gave us lot’s of action for the show.  If you love to fish and you are not in the market for a boat, you may want to consider getting an www.oceankayak.com , rigged for fishing.
