Weather was excellent and we started fishing in Lake Erie, NY by 7:30 am this morning. Joining me on our TV shoot were Dave Neil from Normak Canada, and Aldo Nava who operates www.niagarafishingadventures.com . Our plan was for Dave Neil and I to fish trophy smallmouth bass using some of the newest “twitch-baits” introduced by Rapala. These include the Max Rap, the Clackin Minnow and the Flat Rap. We also used the Shift rods and reels along with R-Type rods and reels. In less than 4-hrs. we landed about a dozen trophy smallmouth bass weighing up to 4 1/2 lbs.

As soon as we finished doing the bass show, we had Aldo Nava join me and we fished a deep-water bay that averaged 25-30′ deep and used Rapala Avantis & F2 Ultralight rods and Rapala reels loaded with 6 lb. test Rapala Taitanium Braid line with TriggerX tubes and crayfish grubs to catch over a dozen sheepshead in the next 3-hrs. The action was non stop and the fish fought great. Sheepshead are delicious eating and I even took the time to do a fish cleaning demonstration. Make sure to see both TV shows when they premiere in the new season of the Canadian Sportfihsng TV show starting this fall on TSN.
