Way-north ice Jumbos & Jacks.

Posted on March 6th, 2018

As we continue to loose our safe ice in southern Ontario, northern Ontario has too much.

Our good friend Joe Kubassek was visiting his son Simeon in Thunder Bay, ON and decided to do some ice fishing for perch & pike. Surprisingly the ice was about 40″ thick!!

They fished one of the large bays and caught lot’s of nice-size perch fishing jigging lures and live minnows.

As a bonus, they also landed a nice pike. If you look closely, notice the very light color. That fish probably spent most of it’s time in the open, clear water of Lake Superior.
