Walleye pre-fish successful for our TV show on Detroit River, Amherstburg, ON.
Posted on June 4th, 2012[nggallery id=724]We decided to pre-fish the main channel in the Detroit River, out of Amhersburg, ON on Fri., and had to deal with steady rain all morning. We fished three channel-areas in the middle of the river and finally located a large school of walleye right on the drop-off of the shipping channel. We decied to use 1 1/2 oz. bottom-walking sinkers with Lucky Strike Bait Works Worm Harnesses and fished the 24-30′ break which was only about 10 yds. wide. Every time we made a controlled drift down the break we hooked-up one or more walleye that averaged 2-5 lb.
Barb & I used the Rapala Walleye Team & Walleye Tournament spinning and baitcasting rods matched with Rapala Volt & Skeeker reels and loaded with the new Sufix 832 “ghost” & “yellow” braided line.
The fishing was so good that we limited-out in less than 2 hrs.
