Walleye & Largemouth Bass fishing on the Bay of Quinte.
Posted on August 31st, 2011Our good friend Moshe Berger, who lives in Israel, and who I shot the Dafna, Israel rainbow trout TV show with recently had a chance to do some fishing and asked me where he could catch bass and walleye. My answer was the Bay of Quinte, of course.

This is what he has to report from a recent trip there;
“Hope all is well. We arrived back to The Holy land last Thursday.
I just wanted to tell you that I tried fishing the Bay of Quinte for the first time this summer. We started by fishing out to Picton , ON and managed to catch around 7 walleye and a few bass and of course some monster Freshwter Drum. I thought I had on a record bass or walleye several times but in the end – it was a Drum.
Next we went out of Baycrest Marina on Big Island, on the Upper Bay of Quinte, as you suggested as well. Dave – the owner, treated us well and was very accommodating.
We caught many beautiful walleye including one just under 5 lbs. and many bass in the 2-3 lbs. range on 2-separate day trips. All our fish were caught on bottom from 6 – 18 ft. of water.
I find that I don’t catch many fish in the evening period. Perhaps I should give up jigging and try other methods. Jigging has always been my expertise and I catch many fish up until the early evening period using this technique.
Thank you so much for pointing me in the direction of “The Bay”. As you know, I don’t get a lot of chances to fish in Ontario. It was amazing to fish the last day with my brother and enjoy the beautiful weather, scenery, and incredible fishing.”
Well done Moshe!! I have a feeling you will be fishing Quinte again.
