Walleye Ice-TV prefish on the Bay of Quite, ON.
Posted on March 1st, 2011[singlepic id=1709 w=320 h=240 float=]Knowing that the walleye ice-fishing season on the Bay of Quinte, ON, ends the end of Feb. of each year, I had planned to head down to shoot a 1/2 hr. ice fishing TV episode. I contacted my good friend Richard Somerville and the trip was set. I arrived in Belleville, ON around noon, checked in at the Belleville Comfort Inn, picked-up some minnows and met Richard at his home. From there we drove out to Point Anne and headed onto the ice. We traveled about 1-2 miles to fish an area where Richard had done really well for the last 2-days. We were not disappointed. Between the four of use fishing, we landed 10-walleye and missed a bunch. I landed all of my fish using the new Rapala R-Type Ice combos and the new Rapala Lil’Finn spoon tipped with a minnow and fished near the bottom.
