Early fall is a great time to book a fishing cottage in areas that get heavy pressure during the summer months. One great region is around North Bay, ON. You can fish Lake Nipissing, or the many lakes within 1 hr of the city.
Ed Dolstra had a great time with no bugs and enjoyed catching eating size walleye and enjoying some fresh fish meals. In addition to the walleye, Ed also landed some really nice jumbo perch, the biggest measuring 13″ long! Fall season can be an excellent time to simply fish live bait along the bottom. As the waters cool off, during the day both walleye and large panfish tend to feed much slower, so using live bait, fishing close to the bottom and using a slow presentation can produce great results!
