Walleye action hot in Detroit River, Windsor, ON.

Posted on May 6th, 2012

[nggallery id=705]Last weekend we filmed  a trophy walleye jigging TV show on the Michigan, US side of the Detroit River right across from La Salle, ON.  At the time, the waters on the Canadian side were turbid due to strong winds on Lake St. Clair.  This weekend the both sides of the Detroit River were clear and the walleye fishing was excellent.  Pat Pagano who runs the annual ICHA Handicapable Fishing Derby and our good friend Nino Palazzolo fished a deep-water channel on the Canadian side of Boblo Island using 5/8 oz. jigs rigged with 4″ brown plastic worms & stinger hooks.  They limited-out in a couple of hours and their walleye averaged 20-27″.

If you love to walleye fish, now is a great time to fish the Detroit River, ON.
