Ultralight summertime Browns.
Posted on July 22nd, 2017While most anglers are fishing lakes for bass, walleye, pike, musky and the Great Lakes for salmon & trout, others are exploring stretches of tributaries that are getting light pressure. It takes stamina to walk through tall weeds and avoid stinging nettles, poison ivy and bugs to find nice size stream brown trout.
Puneet Saini is still catching his share using a variety of small crankbaits and working them in clear and murky water. Fishing some of the faster runs and deeper pools is key to catch these fish in the middle of summer. Starting early in the morning, especially if the water is clear is your best strategy.
