Trophy Walleye from Shawanaga River, ON.
Posted on November 16th, 2012Steve Green reports. Caught this trophy walleye on a white jig with a barely alive minnow in 18′ of water in Georgian Bay near the mouth of the Shawanaga River in the late afternoon. I was using 6lb test clear mono with a 5’2″ spinning outfit. The weather was overcast with occasional light rain and about 5 C. I successfully released to fight another day. Another colleague fishing the same hole got one 8lbs and 27″ also on a jig and minnow.
