Trophy southwest Florida Snook.

Posted on March 26th, 2013

[nggallery id=857]Our good friend Mike Scarlett was out again in southwest Florida fishing the shallow flats with his neighbour Jerry  from Green Bay, WI.  They set out to catch some Reds and Snook yesterday fishing the mangrove shorelines in shallow water .  They travelled north in Charlotte Harbor, Fl to the Mayaka River mouth where they searched the small creeks for feeding fish. There was a small craft warning and strong winds made the fishing difficult.   Fishing the shallow mangroves they ended up catching one smaller snook,  3-trophy snook, and a beautifully spotted redfish!  Jerry is out again fishing today , but , boy is it cold !!

Mike again used  the TriggerX chartreuse tube fished with the Rapala Rapala Shift and Concept Ti rods matched with Rapala Shift reels, and Rapala Andros spinning reels, both loaded with Sufix 832, 10lb. test braid and fluorocarbon leader.
