Orangefin Labeo is a fish of the carp family Cyprinidae, found commonly in rivers and freshwater lakes in and around South Asia and South-East Asia.

The Orangefin Labeo or Calbasu got some attention when the well-known angler J.F.Helias sets an IGFA record with a 2.7 kg specimen. But the fish is far away from the 8 kg rod & reel record. This species reaches 25 kg (55 lb) in India, an example that a lot of freshwater records can be easily improved!
