Trophy Niagara, ON Whirlpool Brown Trout in a snowstorm.

Posted on December 14th, 2010

[nggallery id=387]While most people thought it would make good sense to stay at home this morning, I headed out to meet the camera crew and to shoot some tips on the shore of Lake Ontario.  It was cooooold!  We completed the tips and than my pup Mulligan and I decided to spend a couple of hours checking-out the fishing at the Niagara Whirlpool.  Well, there was only one other brave angler fishing the entire pool in the snow and cold.  We fished for about 1 1/2 hr. and I did manage to get one hit and landed the fish.  It fought hard and turned out to be a nice male brown trout that nailed a 4″ white streamer fished 8′ below my slip-bobber.  Mulligan did some wading along the shore which was not a good idea in the -7C temperatures and than tried to get warm.  Will be back on the river tomorrow.
