Trophy Lake Trout from jigging Lake Simcoe, ON.

Posted on June 9th, 2011

[nggallery id=520]Our good friend and pro-guide Greg Klatt fishes Lake Simcoe all year for pretty well all of the gamefish species it offfers.  Greg recently caught some trophy lakers and whitefish by jigging in deep water.

Here’s his report:  “Wow!!!… The weather may have been a little rainy and overcast and surprised not to see another boat fishing today but the action was awesome! I had some clients out today and we got into some really nice fish including a couple of trophies! We caught whitefish and Lake Trout on large RapalaJjigg’n Raps and small white tubes.  We caught all the fish between 65 – 72′ of water. Here are a couple of pictures  16 lb.+ , and another Lake Trout pushing +20lbs!

Be safe and Good Fish’n, Greg.
