Trophy Gulf of Mexico Amberjack.

Posted on January 25th, 2015

We just received this trophy Amberjack catch image from our good friend Izzy down in southwest Florida. I have the pleasure of fishing with Izzy and Bill when I’m down. We were planning on getting out for amberjacks before I returned to Ontario, but winds and waves did not let us get out.

Amberjack will venture into shallower water less than 30' to feed, but the best place to locate them in high numbers is around deeper water reefs, pinnacles and wrecks.

It’s nice to see the boys were able to get out about 30 miles off-shore where they landed this trophy fishing over a large submerged ship wreck!  I think someone will be eating well for the next week or two!
