Trophy Chinook Salmon added today to our TV show from Sund’s Lodge, BC.
Posted on August 11th, 2010[nggallery id=296]We are continuing to have a great time at Sund”s Lodge, BC. This morning we decided to start trolling new waters and within :15min of getting our lines in the water we hit our first trophy Chinook Salmon around 6:45am. It hammered a Luhr Jensenflasher & anchovie in about 120′ of water fished around 77′ down. The fish hit hard and fought long stripping up to 100 yds. of line out at a time. My wife Barbara hooked the second largest Chinook that was in the high-teens shortly afterward. Barbara also landed a nice female Sockeye salmon that hit a small pink “hoochie” behind a flasher.
One of our trip highlights was enjoying the Sund’s Bistro today on a secluded beach. This is Sund’s Lodge version of a shorelunch, but done 5-star. We had fresh Dungeness crap, steamed in saltwater, beef sandwiches, salads, drinks and dessert, right on the beach.
