Trophy Channel Catfish from Lake Erie, ON tributaries.
Posted on June 9th, 2011[nggallery id=521]Tyler and Jason Howick report. “We have been fishing a variety of Lake Erie tributaries this past week for pre-spawn channel catfish. Water levels have been much higher this year from the excessive amount of rainfall we’ve had. Covering lots of water using slip-floats and bottom rigs, we have been catching big cats tight to under-cut banks and wood cover as many of the fish are approaching the spawn. Most of the channel cats are in the 10-14 lb range with a 17 lb monster caught on Sunday in higher, colder dirty water. With warmer temperatures and stable conditions most of the fish will be spawning in the next 2-3 weeks. “
