Trophy Carp TV show on Carp Zoom bait, Hamilton Bay, Lake Ontario.

Posted on November 2nd, 2012

[nggallery id=811]We took a gamble on the weather this morning and hoped it would not rain and headed out to finish our trophy Lake Ontario carp TV show.   I was accompanied again by Ryan Edenborough and Roger Holton and we met around 7:30am to fish the Carp Zoom bait & gear in search of 2-3 trophy carp.  Roger was kind enough to do some pre-baiting which really helped us to catch our fish.

We landed 3-trophy fish weighing from 20-26 lb. that took our hair-rigs and prepared corn baits fished in 20-30′ of water.  Ryan & I again used the Rapala North Coast 10 1/2′ Steelhead Salmon rods loaded with Sufix 832. 20 lb. test braid.  To keep our baits on the bottom we had to go to 3 and 4 oz. flat-weights.  Fishing the Hamilton, ON Canal poses a challenge since large barges navigate through pushing and pulling a lot of water.  When they pass, the mouth of the Canal looks more like he Niagara River with currents up to 5 mph being created.  This unfortunately really moves the bottom baits around, but we still managed to catch some nice carp.  Not bad for November!!

If you love to carp fish you will want to catch this show and get all the tips on Carp Zoom rigs and baits which will help you catch more fish!
