Trophy Brook Trout TV show at Marmac’s Lodge, ON, back-lake.

[nggallery id=532]We had so much success fishing for trophy walleye and pike on Esnagi Lake, ON from Marmac Lodge that we decided to explore their back-lake for trophy Brook Trout.  We heard that Rock Lake produced many 3-4 lb. Brook Trout all summer long, so we decided to give it a try.  We took in our light-action rods that included the new Rapala Classic Trout Travel Rod and the Finesse Series ultralight both equipped with Rapala Finesse and Rapl reels and 6 lb. test Sufix 832 braid/Sufix Fluorocarbon leaders.  For lures we had a good assortment of 1 1/2″ Lucky Strike spoons and Rapala CD, Shad Rap and Ultralight crankbaits to troll with off the first shoreline breaks.

The walk into the lake was easy, even though we needed to carry in our Humminbird sonar and an 8 hp., Yamaha outboard.  Along the path and under the forest canopy we could not help looking at all the beautiful flowers and moss growing everywhere.  Rock Lake is a spring-fed lake and many of the springs are around the lakes which makes for ideal conditions to grow beautiful flowers.

We trolled the lake shoreline several times and ended-up landing 6-trophy Brook Trout that were in the 3-4 lb. range.  Our pup Mulligan loved the adventure as much as we did.
