Noel Gyger reports. Jiggins boys from LA California, USA first timers and a Kitimat  River Tyee. They were guests with Tracey John Hittel of Kitimat Lodge this spring.

A mix of sun and clouds, chance of showers with highs to +24 degrees Celsius.  Kalum River “spawning” and “kelting (spawned out) Steelhead are in the river now. If you accidently land one please release as soon as possible. Thanks! Guiding started April 1st. Note: Kalum has 4 runs of Steelhead, fall, winter, spring and summer. Skeena River in a brown colour and fishing is difficult. Do not target any Salmon at this time. It opens for Salmon fishing on July 14th. Zymoetz (Copper) River a few summer-run Steelhed are coming in now but water is mostly dirty. Kitimat River Water in good shape. Steelhead fishing is mostly over and now the fresh Chinook have started to come in; lots of Trout fishing available also. Ocean fishing for Salmon, Halibut, Prawn and Crab good out of the ports of Kitimat and Prince Rupert.
