TriggerX Redfish off the mangroves, Fl.
Posted on December 7th, 2014My wife just arrived to join us in Florida and it didn’t take long for her to land her first fish. She landed this nice Spanish mackerel fishing Gasparilla Pass in Southwest Florida.
After fishing the pass for a few minutes we ventured on to a mangrove shoreline where Pat Pagano landed his firsts redfish working a jig/TriggerX Minnow. The MinnKota Riptide electric motor in the background is invaluable for boat control to maintain the right distance enabling us to cast right to the mangroves.
One of the common fish species that a destroys soft-plastics on jigs along the mangroves is the innocent looking Blowfish. These fish look cute, but their razor-sharp teeth are not to be messed with!
