Tributary fishing update, BC.

Posted on September 22nd, 2018

This week’s feature image shows a beautiful Skeena River “keep-em-wet” Steelhead.

Noel Gyger reports. Mostly sunny with highs to +16 degrees Celsius. Skeena River is in good shape and I have reports lots of Steelhead are being caught along with Sockeye, Coho and Pink. Tyee Test Fishery showing a record run of Steelhead this seaon. WOW – this is good news ♥ ♥ ♥ Hope this trend holds! Coho run is looking stronger also.  Kalum River is fishing well for Coho and good numbers of Steelhead are showing up also; good time to try and catch Steelhead and Coho on the same day. Both fly and sping fishing are working well. Kitimat River is in good shape. I have reports of Pink, Coho and Chum being caught now; but mostly Coho.  Zymoetz (Copper) River is clean and I have a report of Steelhead being caught on a skating dry fly. Ocean fishing for Salmon (New reg for Douglas Channel, Chinook limit is one per day), Halibut, Prawn, Dungness and Alaska King Crab is good out of the ports of Kitimat and Prince Rupert.
