Our good friend Aldo Nava who operates www.niagarafishingadventures.com , had a chance to fish with his good friend, Toronto Blue Jays Legend Kelly Gruber and his brother Joe on the Lower Niagara River recently. He reports the weather was overcast and we had to work for thier fish but the sun finally came out and the day ended up great.

TriggerX eggs are impregnated with fish attracting pheromones, they come in a variety of fish-catching colors, they drift naturally and catch a lot of steelhead!

They caught all of their fish on pink Trigger X single salmon eggs positioned about an inch above the line, “like a bead” with a small minnow placed on the hook.

The TriggerX single eggs are the ideal size replicates a salmon egg. The pink TriggerX single egg works extremely well in clear water conditions.

You can view the whole line of TriggerX soft-plastics, including their single eggs by going to the www.rapala.ca , site and viewing the TriggerX listing on their Rapala Canada 2014 Catalog on pages 126-135. The boys used Rapala spinning rod and Rapala reel outfits with Sufix line. They fished 3-way rigs with 1 1/4 oz pencil sinkers and a 36” Sufix Fluorocarbon 8 lb test leader with a #8 Gamakatsu Octopus hook.  After the recent rain and run-off more steelhead will be moving up into the runs making for excellent fishing until the smelt run starts.

Aldo has a few opening left in the next two weeks. If you would like to book a guided fishing trip with him on the Lower Niagara, you can contact him at, www.niagarafishingadventures.com .
