Bill White who is an expert kayak angler did some fishing recently in the Golden Horseshoe Region for a combination of fall jumbo perch and steelhead.
One of the highlights of fishing in the fall is the chance to see some of our native wildlife. This especially goes for whitetail deer during the last full-moon of Oct. That’s when most of the whitetail deer does go into heat and if you’re lucky you get a chance to not just see, but to take a picture of a beautiful buck as Bill did on his fishing outing.
As water temperatures cool off steelhead cruise along Lake Ontario shorelines and are entering harbor mouths and tributaries.
Always nice to watch a release steelhead swim away unharmed!
This is an excellent time of the year to catch both steelhead and jumbo perch that are following the baitfish schools close to shore!
