Yamaha announces Facebook Photo Contest Winner!
Canadians show off their Yamaha’s
March 12, 2010, Toronto, ON – Yamaha Motor Canada’s “This is My Yamaha!†Facebook Photo Contest has come to a close … and that means one lucky Canadian is walking away with $5,000 to spend at Yamaha-motor.ca! The contest, which launched in December, asked Yamaha’s Facebook fans to upload their best you and your Yamaha photo. The contest received over 500 images, from Yamaha owners all across Canada, and featuring all types of Yamaha products—new and old.
There could only be one winner, however, and after reviewing entries at their head office in Toronto, Yamaha has awarded Calgary, Alberta’s Katrina Bryant the grand prize of a $5,000 Shopping Spree on Yamaha-motor.ca for an artsy rendition of her and her Yamaha YZF-R1.
“Katrina did an amazing job!†says Yamaha Motor Canada’s Ad Specialist, Carolyn Hay. “Her submissions were artistic, creative and passionate, and they fit right in with our ‘My Yamaha’ theme.â€
Yamaha’s National Marketing Manager, Tim Kennedy, agrees with Hay. “Katrina’s photos really seem to capture her pride and joy of owning a Yamaha. This is what we set out to do when launching our ‘My Yamaha’ advertising campaign—develop a relationship between loyal customers and their Yamaha—and now they are reaching back to us.â€
The original plan was to award only one submission, but due to the creativity, effort and dedication shown from other contestants, Yamaha has decided to hand out several secondary prizes as well.
“Luke Tudor and Marshal Chupa’s photos were on par with Katrina’s,†notes Kennedy, “Jessica Off deserves honourable mention for her abstract creativity, and Connie Ryan’s commitment to Yamaha is clear by a full stable of recreational toys and even some permanent ink! Each of these contestants will receive $50 in Yamabucks to spend at their local dealer.â€
