Sean Stewart from the Port Charlotte area of Florida writes:
* Fishing is great right now. Redfish are going crazy and schooling up around the south bar of Burnt Store, Patricio, Mondango and between Catfish Creek and Whidden Creek out on the flats. Using a topwater is best for locating these fish by throwing at the schools of mullet.
*Lots of single and multiple fish in the deeper holes along the bars on the east side and along the west wall in the last stretch before you hit Cape Haze Point. Use cut up Ladyfish and sardines for early morning bites.
*The Spanish Mackerel are up to 6 pounds now. Schools of Bonita and King Fish are going to get better in the next couple of weeks.
* Offshore is incredible… but with the winds picking up, take advantage of this great weather now. Grouper and Snapper are best right now. The Cobia and bigger King are showing up around the wrecks.
* Sheepshead, Flounder and Bull Reds are out on the reefs… staging up for their inshore move over the next couple of weeks.
