Thai Pacu twice as large as in South America?

Posted on April 6th, 2015

Some years ago we filmed a 1 hr.TV special on the Ventuari river which is a tributary of the Oronoca and eventually flows in to Amazon River. The Ventuari is pacuon the Venezuela, Columbia, Brazil border. There we caught hundreds of peacock bass, and many other species of fish including the “Pacu” also referred there as a “Morocoto”. I was really impressed to see this Pacu of over 80 lb. that was caught & released in Thailand waters. Many lakes in Thailand have been stocked with exotic fish species from South America and they grow LARGE!
