Noel Gyger reports. Daytime temperatures have been hotter than normal. The Skeena River is in fair condition despite the warmer than normal temperatures and folks are catching fish with both fly and conventional gear. The major part of the snow melt must be down. Right now is “prime time” for Sockeye (Red) and Chinook (King) Salmon. The odd summer-run Steelhead are migrating through. The Kalum River is clean and fishing for Chinook is good. I noticed many jet boat trailers at the boat ramps this morning and many people fishing their favorite holes. The Zymoetz (Copper) River is borderline fishable. Fishing for Chinook in the Kitimat River, Tidal section and Douglas Channel is excellent! In addition to Chinook, Chum and Pink are showing up.
