noel_gyger_graphicNoel Gyger reports.  Weather was good all week and all rivers are on the drop.  Lot’s of snow in the mountains.  Steelhead fishing in the main stem Skeena has slowed a little as most of the summer-run Steelhead have already gone through.  The lower end, China Bar area, is still fishing “fair” for summer-run Steelhead and fall Coho (Silver) Salmon.  Fall-run Steelhead are in the river now.

The Skeena tribs and isolated Coastal Rivers are fishing “excellent” for Coho, the runs are peaking and some of the fish are starting to get into their spawning colours.  The “northerns” are here!  We’ve had a very good run of Coho this year.  Both spin, conventional, spey fly fishing and single hand fly fishing are working well.  The Zymoetz (Copper) River is clean and fishing “fair” for Steelhead.  The Kalum is fishing only “fair” for Steelhead but “good” for Coho.
