This week’s featured image is a chrome, fresh-run Terrace, BC river salmon.
Noel Gyger reports. Cloudy with showers with highs to +13 degrees Celsius. NEW regs from DFO as of May 9th. Do NOT target any Salmon, if you accidently catch a Salmon please let them go…and please “keep them wet”. Here is the link to the latest regs: http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/rec/fresh-douce/region6-eng.html . I have reports Steelhead fishing this spring, so far, has been excellent. Skeena River is dropping and should be fishable soon. Kalum River is fishing well for Steelhead. Do not target Chinook. Kitimat River is in fair shape after a little high water due to heavy rain a few days ago. GOOD NEWS, this high water may bring in Chinooks in. Zymoetz (Copper) River is very high and dirty byt starting to clean up. Ocean fishing for Salmon, Halibut, Prawn, Dungness and Alaska King Crab is good out of the ports of Kitimat and Prince Rupert.
