Terrace, BC Fishing Update.
Posted on January 2nd, 2011Noel Gyger reports. Normal winter weather all week for winter Steelhead and Cutthroat Trout fishing with an average day time temperature of minus 3 degrees Celsius. The Skeena River is in good shape but full of ice flows. Be careful walking on the ice ledges! Steelheading is over. There might be some Trout available. The Kalum River is in good shape and fishing for Steelhead is excellent. The Zymoetz (Copper) River is in good shape and fishing for Steelhead is fair. The upper section closes for fishing on January 1st. The Lakelse River is in good shape and fishing for Steelhead and Trout is fair. Lake ice fishing has started and the fishing is good. Beware of thin ice! See a full lake report below. The Kitimat River continues to produce good numbers of Trout for the few anglers who have ventured out over the holidays. Jason Ringham reports catching 10 Trout during his last outing. Douglas Channel; Christmas Festivities took precedent over Winter Chinook fishing as there was little activity in the Kitimat Harbor during the Christmas Holidays. There should be Winter Chinook in the Harbour but with little or no angler effort there is very little to report. Prince Rupert has fantastic Winter Chinook fishing, weather depending.
