Terrace, BC and area fishing update

Posted on April 23rd, 2015

Noel Gyger reports. Weather mix of clouds, rain and sun with highs to +12 degrees Celsius. Skeena River is not in good shape around Terrace and will be difficult to fish on the weekend. Go west; we think you will find better conditions. Kalum River is in good shape both lower and upper ends and the Steelheading is fantastic! To me, this is the BEST time to fish this river. Go get em! Chinook will be coming into this river anyday now and then you can catch both Steelhead and Chinook on the same day. WOW it doesn’t get any better than that! Guiding started on April 1st. Contact me via e-mail noel@noelgyger.ca if you wish to book a guide. Zymoetz (Copper) River may not be in shape for the weekend. Too much rain and the snow melt has begun. The upper end closed Dec 31. One can fish only in the lower end now.

Upper Lakelse River is fishing well for Steelhead. Kitimat River is fishing well for Steelhead andTrout. I have a report a good number of Steelhead are in the river this year. Ocean fishing for Salmon, Halibut, Prawn and Crab is still good out of the ports of Kitimat and Prince Rupert. If you would like to book a river fishing guide or ocean charter for 2015 you can contact Noel at, www.noelgyger.ca .
