Chinook are coming! Here is Greg Buck with a beauty from the Kitimat River. An older photo but well worth another look, we think :-) Loved those old high sided drift boats, brings back many fond memories. You could actually stand up and row them, not like lower sided boats of today.
Chinook are coming! Here is Greg Buck with a beauty from the Kitimat River.

Noel Gyger reports. Weather mix of sun and clouds with highs of +14 degrees. Skeena River came back into shape but now with more rain forcasted and warmer day time temperature water may rise again. People were catching Chinook at China Bar mid week. We think these fish were heading to the Kalum River. Kalum River is in good shape and the Steelheading is fantastic! I have reports of great winter/spring Steelheading. To me, this is the BEST time to fish this river. Go get em! Guiding started on April 1st. Chinook will be coming into this river anyday now. Zymoetz (Copper) River is fishing good for Steelhead. The upper end closed Dec 31. One can fish only in the lower end now. Reg: No fishing above the sign at the transmission line crossing (below Zymoetz Canyon), Jan 1 – June 15. Upper Lakelse River is fishing well for Steelhead. Kitimat River is fishing well for Trout. Ocean fishing for Salmon, Halibut, Prawn and Crab is still good out of the ports of Kitimat and Prince Rupert. If you would like to book a river fishing guide or ocean charter for 2015, you can contact Noel Gyger at, www.noelgyger.ca .
