Fly fishing for Sockeye on the Skeena River can be fantastic! This action start around mid July.

Noel Gyger reports. Weather mostly rain showers with highs of +5 degrees C. Skeena River is fishing very good for wild Steelhead. Spey flyfishing is the favourite method. The spring run is coming in strong…and the summer runs will be starting soon. Yahoo!! Kalum River is in good shape and the Steelheading is fantastic. I have reports of great winter/spring Steelheading. To me, this is the BEST time to fish this river. Go get em!  Zymoetz (Copper) River is fishing good for Steelhead. The upper end closed Dec 31. One can fish only in the lower end now. Reg: No fishing above the sign at the transmission line crossing (below Zymoetz Canyon), Jan 1 – June 15. Upper Lakelse River is fishing well for Steelhead. Kitimat River is fishing well for Trout. Note: we are getting a fair bit of rain but hopefully river conditions will hold for the weekend. Ocean fishing for Salmon, Halibut, Prawn and Crab is still good out of the ports of Kitimat and Prince Rupert.
