Noel Gyger reports. Weather forecast light rain and cooler temperatures. Kalum River is a good place to fish this weekend, especially the lower end for Chinook. Most all the Steelhead have spawned now and heading back to the ocean. Skeena River is too dirty to fish. You may want to try to fish the clean water of the tribs such as the Exchamsiks and Kasiks. Keep in mind the regulations says you can fish for Chinook only from the Highway 16 Bridge down to the Skeena. Its a small area but can be very productive. Kitimat River is in fair to good shape and I have a report of Chinook being caught. Ocean fishing for Salmon and Bottom Fish out of Kitimat and Prince Rupert is good; so is Crabbing and Prawning.
