Noel Gyger reports. Day time temperatures are warming up but most rivers are still very low. There has been no rain all week. This makes fishing a challenge but this is still a good time to try for a Steelhead. The lower Copper, Skeena, Lakelse and Kalum Rivers are the best choice. Spring Steelhead should be coming into the Kitimat River now but we sure could use a good “bump” of water. Kitimat and Lakelse Rivers are both good for Trout and Dolly Varden Char. There have been many Steelhead seen spawning in the Lakelse River; PLEASE do not harassthe spawning Steelhead. Steelhead run in isolated coastal rivers is picking up. Rain forecast for the weekend, hate to say it, but this is just what we need…got to get those river heights up. Winter
Springs are in both Kitimat Douglas Channel and Prince Rupert. Dungeness Crab and Prawning is excellent!
