Noel Gyger reports. Weather forecast mixed bag with rain, sun and clouds. Kalum River is a good place to fish this weekend, especially the upper end. This is “PRIME-TIME” for this beautiful river. Fresh spring run Steelhead are coming in now and will mix with last fall summer run fish. Chinook are in the river also…and you have a good chance to hook both Steelhead and Chinook on the same day. Skeena River is too dirty to fish. Kitimat River started rising big time as of Wednesday and “may” be out of shape by the weekend. Lakelse River is holding shape with good spring Steelheading, especially mid river. Try and get out before the Steelhead start spawning; once they start they should be left alone. Ocean fishing for Salmon and Bottom Fish out of Kitimat and Prince Rupert is good; so is Crabbing and Prawning.
