While we have predominantly mild temperatures in southern Ontario, our far north still has frozen lakes and ice along rivers and streams.
Our good friend Simeon Kubassek has been having fun catching “early-spring”, ice-out Steelhead in the tributaries of Superior’s north-shore.
Fishing has been good but Simeon and his friend Cohen have had to work for every fish that they have caught. Water temps are still cold and few steelhead started running but with warming temps in the next couple of weeks there should be a good run coming in and few anglers out. They have caught all of their fish using drift-outfits, float rigs and roe bags.
