Steelhead with lamprey scars.

Posted on March 23rd, 2011

Out of all the rainbows we caught yesterday only one male had an old lamprey scar on it’s side.  Back in the 80′, it was normal for almost all the rainbows we landed to have one or more lamprey scars or “holes” on it.  It’s nice to see how well the lamprey controls the MNR have put in place has worked over the years.
