Steelhead moving into Lake Ontario tributary mouths in higher numbers.

Posted on September 22nd, 2010

[singlepic id=1329 w=320 h=240 float=]Steelhead on both the NY and Ontario sides of Lake Ontario are moving into tributary mouths in higher numbers.  Anglers targetting Chinook Salmon are intercepting trophy rainbows by casting spoons, spinners and J13 Rapala’s from shore and by fishing from small boats around the harbor mouths.  Now is a good time to pier-fish during the day for both species and especially at night with glow-in-the-dark spoons for Chinook Salmon.
