Another beautiful “keep-em-wet” Skeena River spring Steelhead from Mandi Buck. Nice job Mandi!

Noel Gyger reports. Mainly sunny with highs to +26 degrees Celsius. This stretch of “hot weather” is causing major show melt which is bringing up the rivers. Kalum River Steelhead are in the river now Chinook are in the river now. You now have a chance to catch both Steelhead and Chinook on the same day. WOW it does not get any better that that! Guiding started April 1st. Note: Kalum has 4 runs of Steelhead, fall, winter, spring and summer. Skeena River in a brown colour and fishing is difficult. Zymoetz (Copper) River ~ Steelhead are in but water is too high and dirty to fish. Kitimat River is fishing well for spring Steelhead; lots of Trout fishing available also. Ocean fishing for Salmon, Halibut, Prawn and Crab good out of the ports of Kitimat and Prince Rupert.
