Spring “twitch-bait” Pike action.

Posted on June 8th, 2017

Our friend Nima sent us these images of his recent Great Lakes pike he has been catching “twitching” shallow-water areas of Lake Ontario.

When water temperatures are still cold, between the mid-50F to 65F, pike are real “suckers” for a well-presented twitch-bait.

Some of the top ones to use are: Rapala Husky Jerk, Rapala X-Rap and of course the new series of Rapala Shadow Raps. All these fished with a fluorocarbon leader and braided line on a medium to medium heavy action outfit are probably the top producers of spring pike!
