Spring trout….in Florida.

Posted on April 19th, 2017

I love trout fishing in fresh and saltwater. While anglers continue to target steelhead in the Great Lakes “open season” sections of tributaries, we’re targeting Spotted Sea Trout on the Florida grass flats.

The minimum size limit for Spotted Sea Trout in Florida is 15″ and often larger trout are loners and smaller trout schooling fish. Barbara & Mike Scarlett show off one of the “keepers” Barbara landed on a minnow imitating lure.

Spotted Sea Trout love to feed on shrimp and baitfish and one of my favorite way to locate larger trout is by using a “popping cork” and Lunker City Fin-S-Fish, Shaker, Swimfish or Lunker Tube.
