Southwest Florida mangrove snook.
Posted on December 20th, 2015When we target redfish along the mangrove shorelines in southwest Florida it’s common to hook other fish like blowfish, flounder and snook,
When you get a snook on they usually immediately come out of the water and often jump several times. Than, just like redfish they head right for the barnacle covered mangrove roots so having a firm drag and keeping them out is really important.
Smaller snook are easy to land, but hook a fish over 3 ft long and you have a real battle on your hands!
