Southern Ontario tributary Tiger Trout.

Posted on August 22nd, 2017

Our friend Connor Grdosic who is a versatile angler fishing fresh and saltwater, warm and cold-water fish sent us his recent catch of a beautifully striped “tiger-trout”.

Tiger trout are a hybrid cross between Brook and Brown Trout. They don’t occur frequently in the wild and exhibit amazing markings on their sides. They behave more like brook and brown trout and need cold, clean, well-oxygenated waters to thrive. This one was caught in a southern Ontario tributary.
